Dewas is a city on the Malwa in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Dewas is known for Devi Chamunda temple and Devi Tulaja Bhavani temple situated on a 300-foot hilltop, Tekri. A broad flight of stone steps leads to two shrines to the goddesses, Chamunda Mata and Tulja Bhavani Mata. Numerous other temples spread over Tekri can be explored on foot. Ascending from the junction of two national highways, the cable car reaches up to the temple hence providing the best mode of travel for pilgrims, tourists and locals.
